Kris R. Delas Armas
Special Events Manager

Kris Delas Armas joined CURE as the Events Manager in 2011. He is in charge of the overall logistics planning with CURE’s Signature and Internal Events as well as collaborations with third party events. Prior to joining CURE, Kris worked in the Event Services department at SmithBucklin, the largest association management firm in the world. During his 7.5 years tenure, he managed full event logistics for multi-million dollar clients (composed of associations, corporate and nonprofit organizations). Kris started as an associate where he assisted with event logistics and managed small meetings. Throughout the years, he eventually became the Project Manager for his clients and was responsible for acting as staff liaison for conference planning committees, work plan development/maintenance, event program development, overall event budget, internal staff leader, new business on-boarding and overall event account management. In July 2010, Kris was recognized as one of the Top 12 Young Event Professionals to Watch by Special Events Magazine. He is excited to use his work experience in the corporate/association world to further CURE’s goals of raising funds for research.

Kris earned his Bachelors degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. In his spare time, Kris loves to travel, read and watch movies. Additionally, he loves to stay active by playing volleyball and hockey. His favorite teams/sports to watch are: Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, Tennis and Volleyball. Kris currently resides in Chicago.
