Vicky Holets Whittemore, PhD
Scientific Program Consultant
Vicky Holets Whittemore, PhD joined CURE in 2009 as the Scientific Program Consultant. She oversees and helps guide the progress of CURE’s scientific agenda, working closely with researchers, scientific advisors, Board members and staff; serving as liaison to federal agencies and colleague organizations; and developing outreach to further engage scientists and clinicians in the search for a cure for epilepsy.
Among her various leadership positions, Dr. Whittemore also serves as the Vice-President and Chief Scientific Officer of the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, working to promote research for the genetic disease that affects her family. She is also a member of the National Advisory Council of the National Institute of Neurological Disorder and Stroke (NINDS). Dr. Whittemore received her BS in Zoology from Iowa State University, and her PhD in Anatomy from the University of Minnesota. She lives in Crofton, Maryland.
