DESCRIPTION:Register here \nWelcome to our 4th Annual Anthony Maffie Memorial Walk to CURE Epilepsy.  Thank you for considering joining our team\, “Ant’s Arrows”.  The name was created to honor our son\, brother\, nephew\, cousin\, and dear friend who passed away at the age of 22 from SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). Anthony was lovingly referred to as “Ant”.  The arrows in our team name and part of our logo symbolize our efforts to move forward in our lives\, while bringing Anthony and his motto “expect nothing\, appreciate everything” with us.  We hope that those with this disease can also find the strength to move forward\, as they confront the many daily challenges a diagnosis of epilepsy may bring. \nEvent History\nWe have raised over $50\,000 in the past 3 years! This is impressive\, but we’re not done until we find a cure. Thank you to all our incredible friends\, family and community members who have supported this mission alongside us in honor of Anthony. \nAnthony’s Story\nTo learn more about Anthony’s story\, watch this episode of our Seizing Life® podcast. \nRegistration\nRegistration will be under the tent at The John F. Kennedy School\, 100 Dedham Street Canton. It is here you can pick up your t-shirt\, learn more about CURE Epilepsy\, and grab a bottle of water to begin your walk. Registration will open at 2:00 PM and close at 4:30 pm. Walk is rain or shine. \nParking\nYou can park in the school parking lot adjacent to our registration tent. \nThe Walk\nThe route is 1 mile around the JFK neighborhood on public sidewalks and will be easily mapped out for your convenience. \nParticipation Options\nThe walking path will be lined with yard signs from current and past sponsors. These signs honor loved ones lost to epilepsy\, educate about SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy)\, and bring awareness to the challenges Epilepsy can bring. You can walk the one mile path\, turn around and come back for a 2-mile walk\, or even walk the route a few times to be sure you don’t miss a sign. You can also sit under the tent and cheer our team “Ant’s Arrows” on. We will have some chairs but we encourage you to bring your own. \nRaffles \nThere will be cash/Venmo/CashApp raffle tables at the registration tent displaying baskets and gift cards from local community vendors and beyond. We anticipate raffle drawings will be completed by 5 pm and you do not need to be present to win.  In 2024\, we had over $2\,500.00 in raffle prizes! \nRegister here

Join us for a day of fitness\, fun\, and community\, all inspired by Joanna’s joyful spirit. \n#LetJoannaInspireYou. \nItinerary\nLocation: St. Nicholas Church parking lot 196-10 Northern Blvd\, Flushing NY 11358 \n8:00 AM: Final registration & shirt pick-up (Shirt sizes are not guaranteed) \n\nYou must wear your 2025 Joanna T-Shirt & Bib. It serves as your admission ticket so you do not need to check-in.\nWe highly recommend arriving early since parking is difficult in this area and so you can enjoy some of the entertainment we have lined up.\nIf you leave your car at the start of the run\, you will have to carpool or take a cab back to retrieve your car.\nLockers will not be provided so you must bring your personal items with you.\n\n10:00 AM: Run begins! \n10:30 AM: Festival begins
