SUMMARY:DOMinate Epilepsy
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, November 4th\, 2025\, join Dominic and the Rosini family at Duffer’s Tavern (Rt. 352 in Glen Mills) for a DOMinate Epilepsy event! 20% of sales will be donated directly to CURE Epilepsy\, a non-profit whose mission is to fund research for a cure. Be sure to participate in the raffle! \nTogether we can increase awareness\, fund research\, and find a cure for Dominic and so many others who are afflicted by this life-changing disorder. \nThe Inspiration\nOn August 26\, 2017\, Dominic had his first seizure\, and his family’s life was forever changed. Within two months\, he developed multiple seizure types and was having over 1\,000 seizures a day. Dominic was eventually diagnosed with Doose Syndrome\, a rare and severe form of childhood epilepsy that is notoriously resistant to medication. \nIn November of 2017\, Dominic was placed on a medically prescribed version of the ketogenic diet\, which means that 90% of his calories come from fats and all of his meals are calculated to a specific ratio and weighed to the tenth of a gram. He has improved significantly\, but we are still striving to attain seizure freedom. \nDOMinate Epilepsy’s mission is to share Dominic’s story in order to spread awareness and educate people about epilepsy. Dominic’s syndrome is rare\, but epilepsy is not.

SUMMARY:Richmond Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Support Nelson Reveley as he honors his late wife\, Jess\, by running for research in the Richmond Marathon. \nNelson is running 26.2 miles to raise awareness and critical funds for the 1 in 26 Americans diagnosed with epilepsy. He is running especially for Jess\, his late wife\, and to raise awareness of and inspire action to stop SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy). \nJess lived a brilliant and beautiful life\, full of lasting friendships\, unbreakable family bonds\, and unyielding service to others. The light of her life burned so bright and blessed so many\, and it was cut too short in the fall of 2019 by SUDEP. \nI cannot thank you deeply enough for your support in helping find ways to cure epilepsy and end SUDEP in honor of Jess.

DESCRIPTION:Proud Member of the CURE Epilepsy Run/Walk Series\nEvent Details\nOn Sunday\, November 16\, 2025\, Sean’s family is excited to host a 2.6 Mile Fun Run AND a one mile walk through Lakewood Ranch\, Florida to raise awareness and funds for epilepsy research! One in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime\, and our 2.6-mile fun run route brings awareness to this fact. This is a family-friendly event\, with music\, snacks\, and lots of smiles! \nThe event will begin at 10 am at the Sapphire Point Amenity Center\, 5970 Bluestar Court\, Lakewood Ranch\, Florida.  Additional details for the event will be emailed to participants prior to race day! \nThank you to our partners UCB\, SK Life Science\, and Neurelis. \nREGISTRATION COMING SOON! \nThe Inspiration\, Seany Matt\n\n\nSean\, nearly 7 years old\, has epilepsy secondary to Menkes disease\, and his family is raising money in his honor to help support epilepsy research. \nSean was diagnosed with infantile spasms at just 7 months old.  After undergoing two rounds of intensive hormone and steroid treatments to control his seizures in the first 6 weeks after his diagnosis\, we learned quickly that the underlying trigger for Sean’s epilepsy is a rare genetic disease called Menkes. \nSean underwent three years of copper therapy for his Menkes while continuing medications\, regular blood draws\, EEGs and several other prolonged hospital stays and visits to specialists to control his seizures. While there is no cure for Menkes\, we know that controlling Sean’s seizures through medication and therapeutics is how he is still with us and continues to grow and thrive. \nREGISTRATION COMING SOON!
