Daniel Lowenstein, MD

Daniel Lowenstein, MD, is the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He is also Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Neurology. His research interests include the molecular and cellular changes in neural networks following seizure activity and injury, the genetic basis of epilepsy, and therapy for abnormally prolonged seizures known as status epilepticus. Dr. Lowenstein served on CURE’s Infantile Spasms Initiative and is currently a Principal Investigator in CURE’s Epilepsy Genetics Initiative.
