Stacey Pigott, MA

Immediate Past Chair

Stacey Hyland Pigott, a New Jersey native, received a BS in Education and an MA in Liberal Studies from Northwestern University. She previously was a high school history instructor, and currently supervises secondary student teachers at Northwestern University.

Stacey has volunteered at CURE Epilepsy for over ten years in a variety of capacities, serving as a lived experience reviewer and on the Benefit Committee, Dinner Committee, Research Review Board, and currently as a member of the Research Committee. Stacey has also represented CURE Epilepsy as a consumer reviewer for the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). In 2008 Stacey co-founded “Rock the Block for Pediatric Epilepsy Research” with former CURE Epilepsy Board Member Kathy Dodd and has successfully hosted fundraisers in 2008, 2010, and 2012, in addition to sponsoring five CURE Epilepsy Pediatric Awards for research.

Stacey’s passion for supporting epilepsy research and advocating for educational interventions for children with epilepsy is inspired by her son who was diagnosed with ESES (Electrical Status Epilepticus during Sleep) when he was four years old. Stacey and her husband, John, live in the Chicago suburbs with their three children Evan, Henry, and Ava.
