Alison is a young woman who developed epilepsy later in life and fought the misconceptions and discrimination that surround people living with epilepsy every day. With the help of her family, she continued to grow professionally in the political arena and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health. She plans to use her scholarship to help her effectively advocate for people in the epilepsy community and create policies to help improve the quality of life of people just like her who struggle with epilepsy and other chronic conditions.
