In 2016 our family in Denmark turned from 3 to 4, when we had our son Valter. We already became parents in 2010, when our daughter Vica was born.
In the beginning everything seemed fine, but slowly I started noticing certain things that wasn’t quite right about Valter’s development. As a one year old, Valter was diagnosed with epilepsy and at 2 years of age, a DNA test confirmed that Valter had Mabry Syndrome. This means that Valter never will be cured. He lives with a non cure-able epilepsy, that gives him daily seizures. He is in high risk of getting serious infections and we spend a lot of time at the hospital.
Today Valter is 8 years old and we have overcome the loss of our healthy boy. We have accepted that Valter is different, but we are constantly living with the grief that our son never will be as other healthy boys. In this process I noticed the lack of opportunities for people with disabilities and therefore the thought of creating a brand with adaptive clothing, started growing in my head.
The result today is a fashion brand that specializes in comfortable and stylish adaptive fashion and a worldwide network of partnerships, that all have one focus in common:
Creating worthy solutions for people with disabilities.
