Jordan Kaufman

Four years ago, Jordan faced the toughest decision of his life. He was forced to choose between having complex brain surgery, or continuing to face the frequent seizures and stroke-like symptoms that dominated his life. Jordan was born with Sturge-Weber syndrome, a neurological condition that was responsible for his seizures. Traditional drugs and therapies had not made a significant impact to his quality of life, and he knew that the time had come to act. Jordan chose to have the surgery; he healed well, and now he leads a relatively normal life. Thanks to the EEF Scholarship, he is pursuing a career as a neurologist with the goal of helping others suffering from debilitating neurological disorders.
