Day of Science in Boston

Day of Science is a free, town hall-style educational event for patients, families, medical professionals, researchers, and all those touched by or interested in learning more about epilepsy. Join us as clinicians answer your questions about cutting-edge research and epilepsy treatments.

Day of Science includes:

• A panel of epilepsy experts discussing the latest in epilepsy research and what it means for patients and families.
• Q&A sessions and small roundtable discussions with epilepsy experts over lunch
• Information on cutting-edge therapies and treatments
• The opportunity to engage with other families and advocacy groups in the epilepsy community
• Breakfast options and lunch will be provided

What to Expect

Epilepsy Research: A Live Q&A – A moderated discussion by a panel of leading local clinicians and researchers who discuss audience questions about recent findings from epilepsy research.

You can submit your questions ahead of time using this form, and the panelists will do their best to address them.

We will also provide you with note cards during the event to write down any additional questions you may have for the panelists.

Lunch & Learn with the Experts – Further explore topics from the Q&A with panelists in a small-group setting.

After the panel discussion, CURE will provide lunch and you will be able to sit with panelists to ask questions and discuss the latest research in epilepsy, therapy, and treatments.

Make a weekend of it! Day of Science in Boston is happening the day after the 1:26 The Art of Epilepsy art exhibition on Friday, 5/10. Learn more about this event, featuring artists from around the world who are impacted by epilepsy.

Can I register at the door?
Yes, you and your guests can register once you arrive at the event. CURE staff at the event will be happy to assist you.

Will meals be provided? 
YES! CURE will provide morning refreshments and lunch.

Building # 199’s garage, located on 5^th Ave. between, 16^th and 13^th Streets. Building 114 is located on 16th Street and 5^th Ave on the Mystic River Channel.

16^th Street and 5^th Ave, Charlestown Navy Yard 02129

Public Transportation. Metro-Shuttle bus: Take the “T” (Green/Orange Line) to North Station and then board the MGH/Partners Shuttle bus. This white shuttle bus displays “CNY” on a placard on the bus windshield and runs weekdays every 15 minutes. It stops just across the street from the TD Bank Garden on Haverhill St (at the entrance to the MBTA Green/Orange line stop closest to Causeway St.)

Building #114 is the 3^rd stop from the North Station and is located on 16th Street and 5^th Ave. next to the Mystic River Channel.

In addition, Spaulding Hospital’s Express Shuttle (smaller white shuttle, displays “Spaulding Express” on the digital placard) runs weekdays, during the hours of 6am-9am and 3pm-6pm, every 10 minutes. This shuttle stops at North Station on Haverhill Street and runs directly to the Charlestown Navy Yard, stopping on 16^th and 3rd Ave. Depart the shuttle and walk to 16th Street, turn left and walk 1/2 block to the corner of 16th Street and 5th Ave. to Building # 114.

From Storrow Drive East: At the end of Storrow Drive (just beyond the MGH Main Campus) take a left onto the McGrath-O’Brien Highway. The Museum of Science will be on your left. At the second set of traffic lights, go right onto the Gilmore Bridge, then at the next lights take a right onto Rutherford Avenue. Turn left at the second lights onto Chelsea Street. Proceed down Chelsea Street and take a right at the fourth set of lights onto 13th Street. Take the first left into the garage and park (located across from Building 149).  Building 114 is located on 16th Street and 5^th Ave., to the left of the Navy Yard’s main parking garage, Building # 199.

From the Mass. Turnpike (90) and Route 93 North: Take Route 93 North (Storrow Drive) to Exit 26.  Stay in the left hand lane.  At the end of the ramp, turn left. Proceed straight through the first set of lights.  At the second set of lights, turn left onto Causeway Street.  Proceed down Causeway Street, passing the Fleet Center on the left.  Go left at the next set of lights – this will be Washington Street. Go over the bridge.  Take the first right after the bridge onto Chelsea Street. Proceed down Chelsea Street and take a right at the fourth set of lights onto 13th Street. Take the first left into the garage and park (located across from Building 149).  Building 114 is located on 16th Street and 5^th Ave., to the left of the Navy Yard’s main parking garage, Building # 199.

From Route 93 South: Take Exit 28 (Charlestown/Sullivan Square). At the end of the exit where the road forks, stay to the left and merge onto Rutherford Avenue.  At the second set of lights take a left onto Chelsea Street.  Proceed down Chelsea Street and take a right at the fourth set of lights onto 13th Street.  Take the first left into the garage and park (located across from Building 149).  Building 114 is located on 16th Street and 5^th Ave., to the left of the Navy Yard’s main parking garage, Building # 199.

From the Tobin Bridge – Route 1 South: Take Route 1 South over Tobin Bridge.  Go over bridge and take the first exit to the right towards Charlestown. Bear right at the lights- this will be Rutherford Ave.  Go right on Rutherford Ave and get into the left hand lane. Take a left onto Chelsea Street. Proceed down Chelsea Street and take a right at the fourth set of lights onto 13th Street.  Take the first left into the garage and park (located across from Building 149).  Building 114 is located on 16th Street and 5^th Ave., to the left of the Navy Yard’s main parking garage, Building # 199.
