At the 2020 SUDEP Coalition Summit, which gathered key stakeholders to develop a roadmap toward ending SUDEP, a critical need was identified for tools and methods to better characterize and understand the clinical relevance of SUDEP animal models. To address this, the SUDEP Data Standardization Project was launched in 2022. This initiative provides a standardized framework for data collection and reporting, enabling preclinical researchers to more effectively characterize SUDEP animal models and enhance their translation to clinical applications.
