As your constituent and a member of the epilepsy community, I strongly urge you to reverse recent staff cuts at HHS, including those within the CDC and NIH. These agencies play critical roles in epilepsy research – something desperately needed by people who cannot find relief from seizures through currently available treatments.

The researchers and public health experts who have been terminated were working on critical initiatives to advance treatments, improve public awareness, and drive progress toward a cure. Without them, we risk slowing down lifesaving research and losing the momentum we’ve built over decades.

On behalf of the 3.4 million Americans, including 470,000 children, living with epilepsy, I urge [Representative/Senator Last Name] to take action to:

• Reinstate the dedicated epilepsy personnel and programs at the CDC and NIH as well as other impacted agencies.
• Protect and restore funding for epilepsy research, public health initiatives, and treatment advancements.
• Oppose any further cuts that threaten scientific progress and public health.
