SUDEP, a five-letter acronym one for each year my dog, Angel, was alive. Each day Angel touched the lives of everyone around her. Although Epilepsy brought intense seizures and led her reputation in our neighborhood to be seen as “a beast”, she used her life to bring awareness and advocacy through her unconditional love and resilient spirit. Our personal 5-year journey on this earth is to share compassion for all beings, challenging fear-based assumptions, and fostering empowered education and community support. We hope to make contributions that make living and dying with epilepsy one of hope, with deeply supportive, evidence–based healing and whole–system living, and to build informed, actively involved communities that enhance the quality of life of all lives touched by epilepsy.
