In 2006, a seizure put me in the hospital during the first week of my senior year of high school. I was later diagnosed with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and had another seizure in 2007. Epilepsy doesn’t care about timing, plans, or goals, this condition forces you to adapt.
Living with epilepsy has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to push through discomfort long before I ever understood what those words truly meant.
Nearly two decades later, I’m grateful for the stability I have today. Not everyone living with epilepsy has that same consistency or control.
