Taylor, our daughter, was born in October 1998. On July 19th, I woke up early and heard a noise from her bedroom. She was in a Grand Mal seizure. I threw on clothes, held her in my police car and we went to the hospital. I knew the crew working and called ahead. They met me at the door. This was the start of 20 plus years of ER visits, helicopter flights and never sure if she would survive, including brain surgery. We used too many emergency seizure drugs to count. In 2020, we started treatment with Dr. Uppal in Joplin. He started her on Fycompa. It was an immediate change. No more seizures. Since 2020 we have had two seizures, both fever related. Taylor is 26 years old now; she will forever be our little 2-and-a-half-year-old because of the early seizures. She is happy and healthy, and we are so thankful.
