Keoni’s Story

It ended my military career

I went to the Persian gulf in January of 1991. I was at Hafar Al Batin with a Military Police Unit. Rockets flew over us and we could see and feel the explosions from the battle ahead of our camp. When I returned home I started experiencing slight jolt-like electrocutions on my right side but they would go away. In 2003 while serving in Korea, I continued to have the electric jolts so I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with epilepsy. No explanation was given as to why I have epilepsy but it ended my military career. Even with medications, my seizures have gotten worse. I can only live with them
