Episode #32 - What’s Your Plan? Seizure Clusters and Rescue Medications featuring Debbie Flader

For those who are prone to seizure clusters, rescue medications are a vital part of their Seizure Action Plan. Unfortunately, until very recently, the only option was a rectal gel. Now two new nasally administered rescue medications are on the market and may positively affect individuals’ Seizure Action Plans.

But before a plan can be developed, patients need a diagnosis. The path from a person’s first seizure to diagnosis to Seizure Action Plan can be a long and challenging one, as epilepsy can develop seemingly out of nowhere and seizures manifest with a broad range of symptoms.

On this episode, epilepsy advocate and one of the founding CURE mothers, Debbie Flader, details her daughter’s frustrating journey to diagnosis, provides insight on creating a seizure action plan, and explains how new rescue drugs may improve the lives of epilepsy patients and caregivers.
