Constance J. Milstein, Principal and Co-Founder of Ogden CAP Properties, LLC, guides the company’s real estate, hotel and development operations, including directing the elegant reconstruction of Washington DC’s historic Jefferson Hotel.

A successful businesswoman and philanthropist, Milstein stays closely connected and involved with a wide range of causes and commitments. Connie’s Bakery & General Store, a successful and socially responsible bakery and gift shop, donates 100% of net profits to charity and sustains Constance Milsteina vital job training program. Launched in 2005, the Mt. Kisco location was such a success, a second Connie’s Bakery was added in 2006 in Northern Westchester Hospital.

Guided by the principal of giving back to the country that has given her so much, Milstein is a fervent advocate of military service and as a Board member of Blue Star Families, actively works to empower and support military families.  Milstein’s “Adopt a Base” program includes honoring military families with special events and treats ranging from fresh baked brownies to new books for children.

A long time supporter of medical research, Milstein serves on the Board of Directors of CURE (Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy), a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy. A consummate problem solver, Milstein is not only committed to finding a cure for the disease, but also for erasing the stigma of epilepsy.  She was the driving force behind the creation of the Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Heart Center, a world-renowned heart facility at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where Milstein has been a trustee since 2000.  Milstein’s dedication to heart research dates back to her first paying job for the North Carolina Heart Association, and continues with her service as 2010 Chairman of “Heart’s Delight,” the American Heart Association’s annual Auction and Fundraiser in Washington, D.C.

Milstein is committed to international diplomacy and is a Board Member Emeritus of Refugees International and a member of the Board of Overseers of the Seton Hall University School of Diplomacy. She is a co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Humpty Dumpty Institute (HDI), a non-profit organization supporting public-private partnerships to support mine-action programs and help alleviate domestic and international hunger, and helped launch Medical Missions for Children, providing healthcare to thousands of young children in telemedicine centers in over 40 developing countries.

In 2000, Milstein was awarded the prestigious National Human Relations Award by UN Watch and its parent organization, the American Jewish Committee. In 2004 Milstein received the Celine Marcus Award by New York’s Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter for her long-time advocacy for the homeless.   In 2006 the YWCA “Salute to Women and Racial Justice Award” for Outstanding Achievement in Business was presented to Milstein and in 2007 she was honored as an Urban Visionary by Cooper Union for outstanding urban citizenship.

Milstein is a Board Member of the National Democratic Institute and a Trustee of the Democratic Leadership Council.  In 2009 she proudly served as Treasurer of the Democratic Governors Association, and is continuing as Counselor to the Chairman of the DGA.

Milstein serves on the Executive Committee of the National Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Directors; as a Trustee of Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC and as a Trustee of the Washington National Opera.

Milstein graduated from New York University, where she currently serves as a Trustee.  In 2009 NYU presented her with the College of Arts and Science Distinguished Service Award for her extraordinary professional achievements and in 2010 with the distinguished Albert Gallatin Medal for Outstanding Contributions to Society.  Milstein also earned a J.D. cum laude from North Carolina Central University Law School, where she was comment editor of the law journal.
